The Red Door Church, with the help of many others in our community, purchased a building in 2017 and revived the food shelf. The building is at 2995 Vermont Rt. 14, South Royalton, VT 05068. Locals will remember this spot as the old Mannequin restaurant, or more recently, the Rusty Bell. In the summer of 2024, friends from Corinth Reformed Church in Hickory, North Carolina, came up on a volunteer mission trip, gave the food shelf a beautiful face-lift, and painted the exterior of the building white and grey. If you are interested in volunteering at the food shelf (we are a non-profit, so all our help is volunteer), please contact us at one of the numbers below.

If you desire to help monetarily, you may give a tax-deductible gift below.  Thank you for all your support!

Q. How does the food shelf work?
The South Royalton Area Food Shelf officially opens on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. but many folks come in as early as 10 or 10:30 a.m. to socialize with their friends and neighbors and have a cup of coffee. They also have evening hours (5 to 6:30 p.m.) One of the volunteers will take your name down in the order you came in. Once Willing Hands comes by with a load of produce, people begin going through 1 or 2 at a time. How much you take is based on household size. Signs are clearly posted throughout to help you.
