Boast in the Lord Alone
The gospel message is foolishness to men, not because it’s irrational but because it’s unlike any other message in the world. God chose a foolish message and a foolish means in order to keep humans from boasting in themselves. If you are going to follow Christ it will cost you your pride.
Living United in the Cross
Corinth was a place much like modern day America, plagued by big-league social climbers, partisanship, and externality. The church there had not yet matured to the point of distancing themselves from these sinful cultural realities. Paul tells them, and us, that the only solution to all of this is to stand united in the cross of Christ.

Uncertainty is a part of life, especially the Christian life. Following Christ inevitably leads us into uncertain circumstances, but He is faithful to meet us there.
