South Royalton Christmas Pageant:
Sunday, December 21st, 2025, 6:30 p.m.
At Red Door Church, we’ve been overseeing our town’s annual Christmas Pageant for years. Every year, our desire is to celebrate the joy and wonder of Christ’s birth in a fun and family-friendly way. Now in its 49th year, our live Christmas pageant brings the nativity story to life as we journey together around the village green, singing timeless carols surrounded by the glow of Christmas lights on the park.

Our Pageant features angels, innkeepers, animals, Magi, and many other characters from the Christmas story. Shepherds also make an appearance at the Pageant, keeping warm by a bonfire in the park, watching their flocks.

At the end of our journey around the town park, we all gather at the Richard W. Ellis bandstand, sing “Silent Night,” and view the live nativity, where everyone gathers around to view the baby Jesus.

After the pageant, step inside the church to warm up with hot cocoa, homemade cookies, and holiday fellowship.
Bring your family, invite a friend, and join us in celebrating the Savior’s birth in a beautiful, small-town Christmas gathering. We look forward to sharing this special evening with you!

List of Songs
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old;
From angels bending near the Earth
To touch their harps of gold.
Peace on the Earth, goodwill to men.
From heaven’s all gracious King,
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.
Still through the cloven skies they come,
with peaceful wings unfurled;
And still Their heavenly music floats, O’er all the weary world.
Above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hovering wing;
And ever o’er its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing
O Little Town Of Bethlehem
Verse 1
O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight.
Verse 2
For Christ is born of Mary, And gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love.
O morning stars, together Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God, the King, And peace to men on earth.
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
Verse 1
Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled
Joyful all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies
With th’angelic hosts proclaim, Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King
Verse 2
Christ by highest heav’n adored, Christ the everlasting Lord
Late in time behold Him come, Offspring of the Virgin’s womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, Hail th’incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus our Emmanuel
Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King
Verse 3
Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace,
Hail the Sun of Righteousness
Light and life to all He brings, Ris’n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth
Hark the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King
O Come, All Ye Faithful
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O Come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him, born the King of angels;
O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation;
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest;
O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
The First Noel
Verse 1
The first Noel the angel did say,
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep
Chorus
Noel Noel Noel Noel
Born is the King of Israel
Verse 2
They looked up and saw a star,
Shining in the east beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night
Chorus Verse 3
And by the light of that same star,
Three wise men came from country far
To seek for a king was their intent,
And to follow the star wherever it went
Chorus Verse 4
This star drew nigh to the northwest,
O’er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place where Jesus lay
Chorus Verse 5
Then entered in those wise men three,
Full rev’rently upon the knee
And offered there in His presence,
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense
Chorus Verse 6
Then let us all with one accord,
Sing praises to our heav’n-ly Lord,
That hath made heav’n and earth of naught,
And with His blood mankind hath bought.
Silent Night
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born
Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love’s pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
